WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

We would love to have your kiddos join us in our AWANA Clubs on Wednesday nights. Awana is a global, non-profit ministry that uses the Bible to teach children and youth about Jesus Christ. Awana offers weekly clubs, programs, and training for children in preschool through high school. We serve dinner for all of our clubbers before starting classes. We are also always looking for diligent servants to help us in serving in this ministry. AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” This idea comes from the club theme verse 2 Timothy 2:15, “ Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”For more information about AWANA, please contact Marybeth Smith at 601-906-8750

We also have multiple adult Bible study groups on Wednesday nights including a women's group and mixed adult group.  Adults are welcome to arrive early before Bible study to fellowship and have dinner served by our VBC volunteers.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP MEAL

On the last Sunday of every month, our church family has a fellowship meal on the church grounds after our morning service. There is no obligation to bring food and we encourage all visitors to stay and fellowship with us.

MINISTRY IN THAILAND: MISSION SE ASIA

Rusty and Susan Teer have faithfully served the Lord in Thailand since 2006. It has been a blessing and joy for Victory Baptist Church to work with them as their sending church since 2015.

Thailand has a deeply Buddhist culture with less than 1% of the 70 million people claiming Christianity. The Teers have focused their outreach with the Gospel to those who have very little to no exposure to the Gospel or Christianity. The culture of Thailand requires building lasting relationships and sharing the truth about God and the Gospel slowly and consistently over time.

Much of their time is spent teaching English in various public schools by invitation where they live in Northern Thailand. A typical week sees them teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten through High School each week in 4 or 5 different schools. In addition, they teach students including both adults and children at their home, 4 nights a week.  A typical week consists of teaching around 500 different students.

They also go to other provinces of Thailand at the invitation of teachers they have developed relationships with for a few weeks each Summer to conduct English camps in schools and do Evangelism.

Those who are led to Christ and discipled are directed to a local Baptist church where the Teers worship regularly and serve where needed.

Because of the Teers' longevity in ministry there and their consistent Christian witness, their opportunities for ministry are continuing to increase. They have numerous schools asking them to come and teach but they are unable to at this time because they are doing all they can. The Teers have hosted numerous interns who have come to help them teach, both short term and long term. This is a life changing experience for those young adults who have served in this way. They get hands on teaching experience and gospel witnessing opportunities are plentiful. The Teers do a great job of discipling those who come to work with them.
